Equipment

  • 1 skull-shaped or Halloween-shaped silicone molds (small to medium size)

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella (200 g), pearls
  • 8 normal or 16 small slices prosciutto (about a 4 oz package, 100 g)
  • 16 ripe red seedless grapes (around 8 oz/200g)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven: Preheat to 350°F (180°C).
  • Prepare the mozarella: If using whole mozzarella, cut it or shred it into small pieces that will easily fit into the mold.
  • Prepare the molds: Place the silicone Halloween molds on a baking sheet and fill with mozzarella pieces.
  • Bake: Bake for 3-5 minutes, just until the mozzarella is melted but not overcooked or browned.
  • Press the cheese (optional): Remove from the oven and use a lightly oiled spoon to press the cheese into the mold, if needed, to make sure all of the molds are filled perfectly with cheese. Blot any moisture with a paper towel.
  • Cool & set: Let the cheese cool completely in the molds before removing.
  • Prepare prosciutto: Cut prosciutto slices in halves if you are not using small round ones.
  • Assemble the Mozzarella skewers: Put ready and cooled mozzarella shapes on the skewers carefully so they don’t get squished, add rolled prosciutto cuts, and finish with whole grapes.
