Have you ever wanted something so deeply, felt so driven and focused by the belief that you could make it happen… and then it did? You may have manifested it without even knowing.
Whether it was about your perfect vacation, getting your dream job, or even finding your sole mate, many of us have experienced the power of manifestation without realizing it. Receiving something you truly want is an unparalleled feeling we all know well. However, few people know how to replicate this, let alone scale this process of making dreams come true and attracting the desired outcomes into their lives exactly the way they want. This process is called the manifestation.
So, what does it mean to manifest? Essentially, it’s about turning your thoughts, beliefs, and desires into reality. By using techniques like visualization, positive affirmations, and even creating vision boards, you align your mindset with what you want to achieve. The idea is simple: focus on your goals and desired outcomes, and you can attract those outcomes into your life. For example, rather than thinking, “This is my dream car, but I’ll never be able to afford it,” you can shift your mindset to, “This is my dream car, and I will work hard to make it mine someday.” This change in perspective can help bring your dream closer to reality.
But here’s the kicker – while the concept is easy to grasp, the journey can be pretty complicated as it evolves certain mindshifts that may not be easy to make if you’re new to this process. So here, I would like to lay down some of the key lessons I learned on my way to becoming a manifester and explore some of the common mistakes many of us face on this path.

My Journey
For many years now, I have been manifesting various things into my life without even being familiar with the notion of manifestation. I jokingly called this phenomenon “my lucky karma”, when referring to certain events and miracles that happened in my life all the time. It started when I was in high school and got tired of getting sick regularly and spending 1-2-4 weeks in bed each time, I then decided that I wouldn’t catch a cold no matter the weather. I started to wear light clothes, dropped the scarfs, etc, and…stopped getting sick, despite having a chronic throat condition ever since I was little. I then expanded this belief to my overall health, and over the years it has been an object of envy by the people around me.
Other examples of such manifestations include always experiencing good weather on my important dates, always finding parking spots in busy areas, traveling to amazing places and top events, getting amazing job offers on a dead job market, etc etc.
Only recently, many years into my personal development journey, I finally learned about the concept of manifestation and the law of attraction and all my previous experiences of unintentional manifestations finally made sense to me. Since then I’ve been taking courses, reading books, listening to podcasts and watching multiple YouTube channels on the topic. I spent many months practicing and working hard on my mindset, learning lessons along the way. So this article is rather a summary of the points, learning, and understanding of which has helped me the most on my journey. I hope this will serve you too.
The Art of Balancing Your Mind vs Your Actions
To manifest great things into your life, you need to balance your inner work and your outer work. This means that you can’t just sit back and expect things to happen – you need to take the right actions to achieve your goals. However, taking action without first visualizing the desired outcome and getting into the right mindset can be a waste of time and energy. Working on your inner state is crucial to getting in the right frame of mind and aligning yourself with the process. Personally, I find activities like sleep meditations to be effective for long-term inner work, while practices like cold showers or home workouts can be effective for maintaining momentum.
Cultivating the Habit – Continuous Manifestation
Like many people, at first, I used to misinterpret the concept of manifestation. I thought it was just about doing specific exercises like meditation and affirmations for a few minutes each day to be successful. However, I’ve come to realize that manifestation is an ongoing process. It’s constantly happening, regardless of what we do or don’t do. Essentially, we are always sending out our energy and thoughts to the universe. Therefore, spending only 10-20 minutes a day on positive thoughts won’t work if we’re letting our fears and doubts take over for the rest of the day. I’ve found that practicing mindfulness has been extremely helpful in staying grounded and ensuring that my thoughts and feelings and most importantly – my energy – are aligned with what I truly want.
Beating the Negative Self-Talk, Fears, and Limiting Beliefs
Your thoughts are shaped by your beliefs, so it’s essential to work on them as well. In addition to my previous points about mindset shifts, it’s important to learn to track your thoughts and feelings as the first step. First, I trained myself to do that without judgment. Once I’ve built a habit of tracking, the next step is to learn to pause and analyze them in the moment to see what potential limiting beliefs can cause your negative self-talk and destructive emotions. In any case, negative thoughts or emotions should not be repeated over and over again but changed into something positive.
I found the most effective way to change negative thoughts in one practice that I learned long ago. It lies in catching your negative thoughts, pausing, thinking of a positive counter-statement, and then repeating it a few times. The principle is not to leave any negative destructive thought on its own, uncovered with the positive statement you’d like to believe instead.
The Art of Detachment – Surrendered Manifestation
One of the hardest things about manifesting in my experience is letting go of control, especially if you are a controlling person like I used to be. When you want something to happen badly it becomes hard not to obsess over it trying to control every inch of the way towards it. However, trying to control everything is a recipe for failure. Firstly, because control over life events is nothing but an illusion. We simply cannot have full control over the external world with all its chaos and endless number of parallel events. The only thing we have control of is ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as well as our own reactions to external events. That also includes reactions to your own thoughts and feelings.
The last part is the most important to maintain the right state of mind and emotions throughout the process. This is why the previous points are so important. You cannot detach properly from your desired outcomes if you keep being constantly worried about them. And if you are not able to detach and trust the universe, you won’t be able to manifest. Therefore, mastering this step is of paramount importance for the overall success of your manifestation journey.
The Art of Delusion
I truly believe that being delusional can be your superpower if you do it right. It has served me for many years with more examples than I could count. It helped to break a lot of barriers, manifest miraculous things, and boost my self-confidence dramatically over the years.
Have you ever noticed that the most confident people are delusional about themselves? They believe they’re the most beautiful, smart, strong (you name it) person in the room, entering the room they assume everyone inside will like them. The paradox is – it works. Without knowing it they manifest this outcome and get it as a result.
Therefore, one of the greatest things I learned on my manifestation journey is that you have to be unapologetic in your desires and beliefs in order to be able to manifest great outcomes in your life. This point is especially important at the very beginning of your manifestation journey when your desired outcomes are yet super far from where you are. Never try to analyze your desires and things you are willing to attract through the prism of how real you think they are for you right now. Once you start doing that, you will most likely start feeling doubts and fears and will ruin your manifestation right from the beginning.
Embracing Manifestation
So, how can you make manifestation work for you? Here are some steps to consider:
- Set Clear Intentions: You can only manifest something if you know exactly what you want. So be specific about what you want to manifest. This clarity helps you stay focused.
- Create a Vision Board: Having a visual representation of your goals can keep you motivated and on track.
- Practice Gratitude: Shift your mindset from scarcity to abundance by regularly reflecting on what you’re grateful for. This can make it easier to attract positive outcomes.
- Join a Supportive Community: Surround yourself with like-minded people. They can provide motivation and accountability as you work toward your goals.
Conclusion
As you navigate the complexities of work and life, embrace the power of manifestation to unlock your potential. By understanding the common challenges, desires, concerns, and mistakes associated with this practice, you can tailor your approach to better suit your needs. Remember, manifestation isn’t just about hitting your goals; it’s about cultivating a mindset that supports your journey toward fulfillment.
